Traversing a terrain: (2021)

Fractures, dream like moments. How the state of the world has changed, but we keep going on in the same matter. Mother nature is harsh and decomposition is its fate. Yet everything stays delicate, beautiful and light. Nostalgia intertwines with a hope for a better future, espoir for loved ones and the captured flux.

This project is no different. 

A journey or adventure implies going somewhere, traversing a terrain. But the visual language can let us travel to an inner reflection, a distant future, or transport us to an ancient past. We may have wandered far away from home and photography can make a better understanding of oneself and perhaps take us closer to where we need to go. 

The rituals of capturing daily life and people you know in a diary-like style. Closeness and intimacy, mashed with brutality of decay, that’s the thing you know the best.

How do one create space and a sense of time. What changes over the duration of light passing. Freedom to me is rhythm, tempo, patterns. And photography is an reflection. Passings of light that makes us stop sometimes
